When I used to do illusions I had a variation on the disapearing money trick where I appeared to put the money into an envelope and then 'accidentally set it on fire allowing the audience to think the trick had gone wrong. In doing so I would make a point of not trusting in money. Later I would make the money re-appear (often from behind the donators ear or in their pocket. This works great at kids parties when you get a parent to donate a large value note. For some reason you always got their attention as the envelope goes up in flames! With the recovery trick you can also make the point of trusting in god and not your own understanding.
