Goto http://www.gospelmagic.com/ for a few good ideas.

Basically, most tricks can be used in a gospel setting in an "object lesson" sort of way if not in an out and out show. Baloo and I were talking a little along this vein in a thread just a week or so ago. And I am pretty sure there are mini discussions on a few threads. My patter varies depending on the theme or the message I'm trying to get across. If I am writing something totally new I start with the message, distill it down to a few key points, then I look over my bits. First I pull out the thicks that I am the most comfortable with, or that I really like the effect. Then I run through the motions of the effect, trying to see how I can work in the key points that I decided needed to be presented. If it works I'm golden, if not I try, try again. I make notes so I have the new bit around for the future.
