My Dad always said "Always remember: K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid" to me whenever I had big plans, and he has yet to be wrong about it. You can do a lot I mean A LOT of hilarious stuff as a clown or even better as a group of clowns in a wedding. Weddings are often hilarious anyways. There is pratically a hilarious-wedding-gone-wrong entertainment industry out there between, "Americas funniest videos" and shows like "The Real Wedding Crashers." Why? because weddings are taken seriously, They are formal, even if they are informal, and people don't do enough of them to really know what to do when things go wrong.

Use this and play it up. Go in clown makeup, but you don't have to have silly props, they only complicate things. Use what you would have already and modify them so they go wrong. Make a break away brides dress train that will catch on something and fall off as she goes up the isle. Get the ring bearer to do a coin vanish with the rings and then not be able to reproduce them until a paniced search ensues where it is found that it is already on the correct fingers... of the wrong person. It would be better if the rings are exactly alike. See if the organist or piano player could sponteneously modify the music into a distinct dance style of some sort: ragtime, rumba, tango, hip hop waltz whatever, and when he does, the entire wedding party breaks in to a dance except the bride and groom, or bride or groom and tells everyone to stop and yells at the musician to "play it right." every song... at some point. You can pantomime the vows as you say them. I just thought of this off the top of my head, and I bet you can think of lots more. Just remember if you think it is too much, it is probably either is right or just short. If you are going to go over the top anyways, do it all the way.
