Howdy Princess,
A California Newspaper headline read (1,155 and counting) referring to the number of homes already burned to the ground due to the recent Santa Ana wind and fire conditions here in Southern California. It isn't a pretty picture and ones heart can't help but go out to the fire victims.
An actress from the Tujunga Canyon area (can't recall her name) but I do recall what her reply to reporters was when asked how she felt about losing her home and most of her worldly possessions she said " I do not let my possessions, possess me" Wow! She is quite satisfied with having rescued her animals and herself. Quite a special person I'd say...
Even thirty miles away from the closest fire it is still uncomfortable and difficult to breathe, just seems to be like stagnant trapped heat and ashes, lots of dust and ashes.
So, pack up all your cares and woes and come on out to sunny smokey California...
According to the Weather Forecasters today we should see a break in the wind conditions which should give our firefighters a fighting chance against impossible fire fighting conditions.
Your guess of people being to busy to do anything but trying to escape unpredictable firey infernos is probably right on the money...
