Very Good Tip Miss D. I went to Goodwill today in Full Costume and I had so much fun searching for clothes... looking at the ties, I even ventured over to the womens section to look....
One thing I had never considered before was the use of scrub bottoms or tops... Used together or apart both would work with the outfit, be fairly breathable, add a vest hat, shoes, and other accessories and your good to go. They also come in pretty loud colors and prints. Or you could visit walmart and pick up a simplicty or Mcalls pattern.
One thing I can't stress enough when it comes to costumes are POCKETS! I wish I had more in mine. I have one pocket on the inside of my Grandmother Made vest, and four pants pockets... but I still wish I had more pockets.
Today I was in the process of searching Goodwill for new Hats and a Brightly colored Fanny Pack... I didn't find either but I still had lots of fun in the store...
Some of the great comments of the day came from Children and Adults alike:
Q:"Are You a Real Clown?" ...
A:" I'm just as real as you are... I've never met a fake one"
Q:"Don't you Belong down the street at McDonalds?"
A:" No... thats my good friend Ronalds establishment... I went to visit him today but he wasn't home... Also for future reference ... McDonalds won't accept Monopoly Money"
Q: 'You don't have a squirting flower do you?"
A:.. "Nope I'm harmless and unarmed"
Q: "Where did you get your Clown Training"
A: "Well have you ever heard of Ringlings Circus? (Yes?)... Well I got my training at the Circus next door... with the Dinglings.
