Walking forwards is normal. Actually most of the time it is running forwards. Practice more and try to do it less and less. Soon you will able to stand, sit, turn, walk or run forwards or backwards, stand on one leg, skip and so on while juggling.
Be mindful of what your hands are doing while you watch the balls. Your hands are where the control is. Once you release it, you cannot do anything to affect the balls path until you catch it again.
I when I was first learning I juggled in a city park where there was lots of space to mess up in. Anytime I learn a new trick I find a open spot. Lately it has been my school's auditorium.
