Hi Everyone!

I'm so glad to have found this forum. I've just recently started clowning. I took my youngest daughter to a party with a clown and I have to say, I think I enjoyed it more than she did. That was about a year ago and since then have been working on my own clown character. So far, I face paint, twist balloons and do some simple magic (coloring book, popcorn box w/ silks). For the first few months after deciding to become a clown and lots of practicing on my kids (which they certainly didn't mind, I did mostly face painting and have been getting quite a few jobs doing just that (not in clown). I've been reading everything I can get my hands on, filling my living room with balloon anmals and recently took a clowning class at a local junior college. I have had 2 jobs as a clown. I was completely terrified (and excited). I think they went quite well despite my nerves. I have done some volunteer work with my clown instructor also. I have to say that the skills (balloons, face paint etc) are much easier than the actual character development. I definitely need to work on that aspect I'm not sure what kind of voice to use and what kind of things to say while doing faces etc. I also need to work on a specific walk and body movements to fit my character. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I think all of you are wonderful to share your thoughts and wisdom with us newbies!!!
