I came across a fascinating article called
1,000 True Fans. The article is based on the
Street Performers Protocol as a way to make a living as an artist. It has very little to do with actual street performing however.
The basic idea is that an artist can make a living by serving 1,000 True Fans. The article talks a little bit about the
Long Tail but you wont need much knowledge about that subject at all to get a great deal out of the article.
