Yeah, I get that a lot too, but I think it might be partly because the kids and I "see eye to eye". My husband and I joined a new church last June and I didn't know ANY of the kids ... I did know some of the grownups, but no kids. As we were waiting to shake hands with the pastor after the service, there were these two little girls behind me and I smiled at them and one little girl whispered to the other one that she thought I was a clown. The other one started to laugh and told me what she said. I said, "well, I AM a clown." The one who knew I was asked me if I had been at her cousin's birthday party a couple of weeks ago and I had. The other little girl said, "how did you KNOW?" She said she could tell from my eyes.
Plus ... the other way ... a couple of years ago, we had a professional photographer come and take pictures and as I was waiting to get mine done, the photographer said, "what's your name?" I said, "Nettie Belle." She said, "no ... I mean your REAL name ... is it Lynette?" I said yes ... then she told me who she was and we had worked together 30 years ago and I had not seen her since, and here I was in a blue wig ... Hmmm ... makes me wonder if I looked like a clown 30 years ago!
It's interesting ... I don't know how people know. Then there are others who say they NEVER would have known.
