I tried to word everything as concisely as I can word everything I feel I need to say. .... We all have tastes.
The retro style is totally intentional. I like it LOL, I know, you're cringing Infotainer. I care about everyone's opinion, but I also first and foremost stick with what I first think and like...

I am still here! You talk about "him" as though I'm not around
Nothing wrong with retro ... even if nostalgia isn't what it used to be! I was going on to comment about how you have done it means that Search Engines cannot even see it ... and to offer a solution ... but you don't mind.
I don't think there is necessarily any problem with the length of your copy. If people are interested, captivated and you have built rapport etc then they will read as much as you can give them.
BTW, for others reading, content and changing content is a very good idea for your site as it helps in many ways.
But I would say about the content I saw that it is not in the right place or sequence IF it was doing more than providing some personal and other background information. Achieving good responses from 'sales copy' requires more careful crafting.
Anyway ... good luck
