Personally, I powder, brush, spritz, and pat dry. At the end of a very long day (competition starting at 8 A.M., lunch, convention workshops, smoozing, and a banquet) I still looked good enough to show my face in public. On the other hand, my wife says why go to all the bother of putting my make-up on, then taking it off, then going through the whole routine the next time and why not just have my "face" tattooed on?
