I think that the key difference between clubs and balls is to learn the axis of spin. With balls, you toss them up - they come down. Pretty simple concept. With clubs you have to toss them up a certain way in order to get them to come down where and how you want. You get into double spins, triples, flats, eventually. Then comes passing which adds an entire new dimension. Ultimately, clubs aren't that hard but it takes some time and a lot of work to get used to them. Primarily, I think you have to get over the fear of being hit... as it WILL happen. Once you overcome that, you get more brave about staying at it and trying new things.
