I think there may be some confusion here. It is not other clowns who frown on clown ministry. It is non-clown congregation members. They feel that clowns have no place in the church and cannot convey the gospel like a pastor would. The "silly factor" of clowning, I believe, makes them feel that clowns cannot present a "serious" message.
