Rid makes a spray for furniture and things that can not be washed in hot soapy water for killing head lice and it would be safe for hats. They do make a generic brand at most stores. Other wise you put it inside a bag and keep closed tight for 2 weeks.This is my advise for you. When not clown, I have been a Cosmetologist for 25 years. (hairstylist) gidget
