With names I like to think of how difficult will it be for a 2 or 3 year old to say. You might even ask a child to say it.
Pix was a nick name of a good friend of mine in high school. He had an elf look about him which earned him the name. It was short for pixie of course.
Nick names seem to make good character names.

I like all of your jobs and designations. It will realy give you a good jumping off spot for telling stories. If you have patches or something with memberships stated on them it will give people questions to ask you.
