Professor's Nightmare
This trick screams to be used in gospel magic. Any rope will work as long as they are the same color. Generally when bought from magic shops you'll have colored rope with contrasting color on the tips of each rope. Plain rope from Lowe's works just as well.
Sponge work as well. You can get sponge fish and loaves for about $5 from most magic shops...
