Hey Sue!
Sounds like it went great! I grew up clowning in Nursing Homes with a Church clown troupe. I was 10 or 11. I hated it at first. The smells bothered me & it would depress me, even at that age. Then I grew to love it, especially when I knew allot of these people had nobody, they were abandoned. They also made me feel like I was actually a good clown! They were not hard to impress. They loved any little thing. We would bring hearts cut out from construction paper that said "God Loves You" or little silk flowers from the craft store. We went back on a monthly basis & they had kept & displayed each thing we gave to them. It was a huge educational experiance for me as a child. It hurt me when the residents didn't want us to leave their room & beg us to stay. I remember some of them crying.
