When something bad happens to me, sometimes it's hard to deal with....
Sometimes I forget what I tell myself because of what's going on, or if I'm in a hurry I'll deal with it later, but usually what I try to do is...
1) Count to ten before I do ANYTHING. I used to have a horrible temper when I was a teenager and younger adult. It's still bad sometimes, but I've found that when I make the time to stop and do it (which is 60% of the time and still improving...

) it helps tremendously.
2) Realize what's happened, and what needs to happen next. This usully happens during the count to ten. Sometimes if the situation is more involved, then I count to twenty, or thirty...
3) MOVE ON. This part is really important. I've realized this most of all in the last few years. What's happened has happened, whether it's for a reason or not. Sometimes that matters, sometimes it doesn't. Time has a funny way of fixing most things...
