Default Costume and make-up tips

Hey there friend...

To be comfortable in clown you need to invest in a good pair of shoes, nose, make-up and costume... BUT they dont have to cost you a arm and a leg! here are some tips from me to you!:

costumes can sometimes found at thrift stores (whodathunkit!)! after you have developed you character and know what style and colors you want... try looking for bright colorful patterns in vests, shirts, hats, pants... for cheap shoes i recommend the BIGGEST size canvase high top shoe you can find... i bought me a size 18 at walmart that where white and then i used fabric markers and fabric dye to color them... only cost me $11 for the shoes.... but dont get me wrong, there is NOTHING better than a new pair of 13 inch leather clown shoes but when your funds are low you gotta do what you gotta do! i found thick red suspenders at k-mart for $8 (for my auguste character) the possiblities are endless... remember to be creative.

Make-up how ever you cant be cheap on... i suggest you use a brand like Mehron, Ben Nye, Snazaroo (greasepaint not water based), or ProFace. You need to buy alot of REGULAR baby powder with out cornstarch (cornstarch will crack your make-up). buy a good selection of fiblert and flat brushes, baby oil or baby shampoo to take it off... i use johnson & johnson "Purpose" face cleansing bar... works WONDERFUL!. As of make-up design you will have to work on that and post or e-mail us pictures and we will be glad (iam sure) to help you.

Please let me know if i can help you.... you can personally e-mail me at Shoqtclown@aol.com
