For those of you guys that read my into. You know that I am coming out of retierment. I have not clowned in 9 years unless you want to count a few times I was a jestor at a ren fair (My 3rd love after my wife and clowning) So here is what I put to you of you. I have litterly done all sorts of clowning from B-parties, stage, circus, amusment parks, streetperforming, and parades. Now I have a great job and I do not need to - throw myself into surviving on b-day parties. (my hat is off to all of you who do that) So should I finish my one man stage show, take the offer of starting a cable access Tv show, or start working on clown classes at my local collage (the contuing adult class cordinator is still trying to get me in). I mean for all of this I am starting from scrach again all I have is my old nose and a pair of so-so clown shoes I pick up. (I do have some old costues in my closet but non are fit to wear.) So I need some input. 2 heads are better than one 3 is better than 2 so I figure that a hundrend clowns might be like a few normal people and i migh find my ansewer.:???:

I would not know how to advise you with all you experience. If money's not an issue working on what you love the most, however, if you need to use the money you earn clowning to rebuild your business, the teaching position would allow for a steady income that would allow you to work on building you other areas up until your ready to take them to the public. The tv show might get you out there more, but you would want a good costume and you stated yours were not fit to wear.
I'm kind of in favor of the teaching. What better gift to the world than more clowns. I know if you follow your heart you can't go wrong

When it comes to costume I am lucky my wife makes proffesional Renissance costumes. I have drawen a new outfit that is a takeoff of my old one just a few changes.
By the way thanks for the input I value anybodys thoughts nomather if you have 30 years experance or a first-of-may.
The reason that I am confused is that I am working full time and going to school for my masters full time. I would like to use the clowning as a stress relieve for me.

make a list pro/cons which area do you feel the most comfortable, maybe this will lead you. I've been clowning around 12 yrs now,. festival, b-parties, and I direct our clown mins. The ministry show are prob. my most stressful as I'm dealing with jr. joey's, but I love the stage part and would do that as much as possible over anything else, so between teaching clowning and a TV show they both have things to offer. Teaching the trill of passing along your experience and seening others get excited. TV show maybe less stress as you can video perhaps around your sched. and the oppertunities to redo if you need to. But would it be fun without a live audience? Or will you have an audience?
btw I love the rene fair and go here every year when it comes to town.

You are right I have made the list, and what I came up with is to Teach wiel I finish building the props for my one man stage show. To do it right I will need at least $2ooo for the props that I need and that will take time. In the mean time I will bring out all of my old classes and start sharing again. As far as the TV show goes. I would like to find a couple of others who would like to help me with it. Clowning is so much better if you have someone to work off.

Sage advice attributed to Confucious:
If your plan is for a year, plant rice.
If your plan is for ten years, plant trees.
If your plan is for a lifetime, teach children.
(And we all know that there are children of all ages...)

Okay I have just ran across another project for me. I had been trying to talk to the clown ally in Peru Indiana to see if I could help out with the Childrens Circus, but it seems that they do not want or need my help. So I am getting the TV show off the ground and I have been taking with the Boyscout council up here about forming a Jr. Joey group they love the ideal but want me to work with the group called explorers it is for Boys and Girls ages 14-18. So I am going to see what I can do with that and I will keep everyone posted as well.

Oh about my stage show in the last couple of weeks I have written some new ideals now that the fling is done I can focus some on these. The first one is a soap gag using a broom and a mop and a bucket of soap, the secound one is a funny bit about doing laundry using an ironing board and linging closehangers. And findly a hichhicking bit with a suitcase and a red hart helum ballon. I am hopping to replace some of my more expencive types of show bits with these so that I can see about performing my stage show sooner. Once I have the money I then hope to be able to add the more expencive props like my trampoline bed and the clown car I want to build.
