Princess,

Since we have a forum for balloon twisters, why not have a forum for us face painters? What think ye? It sure would be handy. :)

I just finished updating my face painting menu board, adding 32 new items. It's all full now, so if I want to add any more, I've got to increase the board.

Here's a couple of pictures.

Close up of the items I just added (the Michigan Spartans logo was deef-ee-cult!!)

Thanks, Everyone!

Yes, the sports logos are pretty popular. LOL. Funny story. A friend of mine grew up in U of M territory before moving to Florida and then to Arizona. He said, "Um, how come you have a Spartans logo on there?!" Well, I have Spartans fans come to get their face painted as well as Wolverine fans. I feel like a traitor but what can I do? ;) Got make everyone happy.

Sure thing Sassy, here ya go! Any ideas for a sentence or two to describe the new board? Guess I'm a little uninspired today.
Great looking boards; at the rate you're adding things maybe you'll need to add more "pages" and hinges :)

Looks great, Sassafrass!

The "menu" is a great idea to help the flow go faster.

The same principal can be applied to balloon sculpture/twisting.

And, I agree that a face painting topic would be helpful.

I got a board floating around some where, one of the moms got it to practice with. I want to do photos I just forget to do it and if you post a pic. in your advertizing, you really need written consent. I've done some full faces with my daughter but I want to do more.

I must be in some sort of fog. A sentence or two to describe the board? Guess I don't get it. Sorry!

The menu is such a blessing because, when asked what they want, kids will sit there and go, "Uhhhhhhh. Let me see" and then they'll hem-haw around while the others wait and grow impatient. Most of the time, kids are pretty good about spotting what they want. Only once in a while I'll get one who just can't seem to pick one.

I have had a couple who wanted something not on the menu, and I had to gently say, "I can only draw what's on the menu" to keep them from holding things up.

PS---Princess, thanks for giving us face painters our own little forum! Yippee! (applause!)

Sassy I could be wrong but I think Princess was taking suggestions on describing the face painting section.

what about simply ' all issuses related to face painting" ?

How about "Here's your chance to show off your artistic side!"

I once had a menu with my full face designs but the kids can be too picky.

"The picture shows the dot here, not there",
"That's the wrong color green",
"The picture has 6 stripes, not 5!"

It can get crazy. The down side: I liked to refer to it for those rare requests - faces that I've done but don't know by heart.

Maybe a pocket sized notebook (for my eyes only) would solve that problem.

Mama Clown says that she just asks kids if they'd like to have their face painted in (then names a very few options). This keeps the kids from hemming and hawing or getting too picky. "Would you like to be a cat, a princess, a ....?" Basically, once the kid replies, "yes" to something; that's it...it's decided. Too many options creates too much confusion.
