First thing you need to do is check with your local hospitals. Find out what training is required to volunteers, if they provide it. Then see if they are open to you getting the training and what your duties will be.

At my hospitals all volunteers must go through the orientation process. each has a written job description with duties spelled out.

In America the hospitals liablilty insurance covers volunteers so you need to be trained in code [not to perform them but what they are and if you need to do anything] like fire drill where to go, how you can assist. etc.

the things is my dear.. that venezuela does not apply the same stuff you do there.. i mean theres no such thing called "orientation process" here and we dont have to go throught training. cuz they dont care about "laugh-o-therapy" and thats why im pretty much alone in this.. althought i have been seen this hispital and spotted exits.. and emergency exits i have read your tips about hospital clowning too.. and i have read a lot of useful information.. i just need a back up need support from you all., need more tips and advice!!

I realize things are different there, here if you were to go clowning in a hospital without administrative permission, Security would prob. escort you off the property and you'd be asked to not come back. In re: to training I wasn't referring to clown or laugher training. Even if you were the volunteer who passed out new mag. in the waiting room you have to go through a training of some sort. :D You could put your own health at risk.

Welcome to the Clown Forum Dr. Padillo! Glad you found us :) Do you know other clowns in your area? Maybe you could get more attention for the hospital clowning cause if you got a group of volunteers together, and got an article written about your mission for your local paper.

Again, welcome! I hope you'll be able to raise awareness in your country and help people :)
