View Full Version : I can't believe it's been a year!
I don't know if any of you remember, but last year at this time, I was freaking out because I was doing my first really big weekend festival doing balloons. Well it's been a year already and I'm doing the Sun Fest again. I'll be there Fri., Sat., and Sun. I'm really excited this time instead of terrified. I know this kind of leads to another topic but my hubby is finally donning the clown duds and joining me. (He's the nervous one this time). I'll tell you all about it on Monday. I probably won't make chat tonite but I'll try.

Tell your husband to relax and have fun
He can blame anything that goes wrong on you
hehe

Willace-the-Clown 05-04-2006, 07:19 PM Gigi What is his clown name & tell him to think more about what he has to do & not about all the people watching him & not to think about messing it up cuz then he will & for clowns it dont matter if you mess up as long as it is funny
PremierSparkles 05-05-2006, 08:23 AM Happy 1 year anniversary! I do remember your first gig, with the train right? You were so nervous, now you are an old pro!! Congratulations on so much success!!!
Way to go, Gigi! *Big round of clapping*
The 1st year is tough I think, but once you get the wrinkles ironed out things are easier, as with alot of things in life...
No worries about the hubby...I'm sure he'll do great with your help!
Well the festival was a smashing success! We had so much fun! It was one of those things where it's kind of hard to believe that I actually get paid to do this! We had fun, handed out a zillion cards and got paid plus tips. What could be better?! It was so much better having him (my husband) there with me. We could play off of each other. I've never really had the opportunity to work with another clown, especially my hubby. He was fabulous. He didn't break character for a second! I do believe he has found his calling. He even got his picture in the paper. I have found my max time in grease paint to be exactly 3 days. If they wanted us there any longer, I don't know what I would have done. My face is sooo itchy. It was about 90 degrees all weekend but we managed to find a fairly shady spot and just stayed there. I remember last year that by the end of the 3 days, my fingers were quite sore but this year they aren't. I must have built up balloon calouses (sp?) since then. I'll post the pics as soon as I get them off of my camera. (Computer/Camera stuff not really my forte' - have to get hubby's help)

GiGi,
Are you using ProFace make up?? I have never had any problems with that brand. It's like Mary Kay for clowns! It actually feels kinda good, no different from my regular make up! I have used all other brands & this is waaay worth the money! :D
Congrats on a great event! I have sooooo much fun playing off other clowns too! I feel lonely when I don't have clown play mates! :( I am usualy by myself, except for my body guard. My mother keeps begging me to come to Winston-Salem, NC & clown with her more at our events there. We have a blast together!!! We get carried away & forget people are watching us!!
:D
I use Mehron Clown White. It usually doesn't irritate my skin but I guess three 10 hour days was just to much for my skin to take. Where do you buy the ProFace?

PremierSparkles 05-10-2006, 09:39 AM GiGi,
Leon "Buttons" McBride former Ringling clown, invented it. It's his line. He also has a line of noses. Best I've ever had!

I was curious to see if you were still using Mehron Clown white? So many ladies I know have switched to Ben Nye white. It covers as well as Mehron but is creamier. I generally use Mehron white but my auguste is Ben Nye and my accents are a combination of the two. I have access to Pro Face but have never really tried it as I am presently quite happy with the combination I've got.
