The star attraction in Fort Mitchell Kentucky, the Vent Haven Museum, is "the only museum dedicated to the art of ventriloquism." It was founded by the delightfully named William Shakespeare Berger. What the Bard would have made of his namesake's interest in Tommy Baloney (Berger's first figure) and his 700 eventual friends can only be a matter of speculation.
Visitors will see a Charlie McCarthy replica, Shorty Jones, Jane Jones (no relation), Woody DeForest (who looks like he might have anger-management issues), and Granny, who somewhat surprisingly smokes and winks.
The museum is open May-September, by appointment. It's a $5 entrance donation.
