Clowning shows soo much confidence.. which I really admire.
At times I feel nervous knowing how the children would react and Im sure this limits me on my acts....
Since there are so many who has been clowning for a number of years already.. Im wondering if Do you still get nervous? and usually on what?

I have heard people say that getting nervous just means you care about what you are doing and want to do your best. In that case, I hope I am always a bit nervous.

Nerves keep you on your toes and give you energy so welcome them. I always get flutters just before I arrive at a party. Mostly as we never quite know what we are going into, but once you get going it all clicks into place. I still have to nip myself sometimes to believe I am actually doing this and the feeling of euphoria when I leave a party makes me excited about doing more.

I rarely get nervous, if you are nervous you are not prepared. I am usually excited before a show but if you are prepared there is no need to be nervous.
On the one hand, I tend to think that if you are comfortable you feel less nervous. On the other hand, is it always a good thing to be entirely comfortable? The more one does a thing, the more natural it becomes. You feel confident and just walk into a situation without a need for nerves. But familiarity breeds contempt. So we also need to be careful not to just walk through a performance nonchalantly, either. Especially in an art such as ours, where there is constantly the potential of an unexpected. That, alone, should keep us at least a tad on edge in a healthy way. We need to be able to respond in an instant to whatever may come. As such, there is a creative tension (which one might term as "nerves") that can be kept under control, but is always present - if hidden. It should be channeled in a positive manner to keep us ever on our toes and becoming better.

Nervous, I remember that was way back in high school when the world was new, If really nervous about performing, self medicate and get over it, nothing to get nervous about.

I used to get very nervous. The biggest thing that helped me was preparing everything the day before. Juggling items, props, balloons, magic tricks, etc. I have everything ready so all I have to do is put on the costume and makeup and go.
