I am interested in glitter tattoos and have read the latest forums about it. There has not been too much info on why some prefer poofer bottles than an open jar. I live in Colorado and it can get very windy unexpectedly. I feel I would want to use a poofer bottle just because of that. However, can anyone tell me what to expect when using them. I do not want to buy them and find out it is not what I need. I have not purchased any of my glitter, tats or glue, but I have my order ready. Anyone have the pros and cons of the application process they like best? Thanks you, Pat at Gurraragons Face Painting.

Smacky, a clown from Texas on here has been a great help to me. He shares any info you want. Unbelieveable how much time he takes to help others. I cannot thank him enough. If you saw his stand and how he displayed his samples It was great. I used my ladderball game to do it and it worked about as well. And believe me, if you dont make that display you will lose sales and have people asking all kinds of questions. I had a few tats that I had only 1 of so displayed them in their natural form and people just couldnt understand..they didnt want it to look like that, etc..all kinds of remarks. Smacky uses only the poofer bottles and says thats the best way. I have several and I like applying them with a brush much better. I have bottles that I dip the brush in and I refill my small bottles. And it keeps the wind from blowing my glitter that way. I just cant seem to get into the poofer thing. Faketoos and chitchattheclown seems to be the best buys on tats. Dont order from them overseas companies..it takes forever to get your stuff and the tats dont seem as good and they add a ton of shipping and half of them have other taxes you have to pay so you are spending more. Good luck! There really is money to be made at it!

Poofer bottles are the way to go -- but be prepaired to shield the application site from the wind as it can make subtle / detail work a bit trickier. We use a pair of sewing scissors to poke into the end of the poofer tip and open it up a bit, as this seems easier to use than actually poofing it all over the place (it's also handy when you manage to glue shut the tip).

I like to use poofer bottles too, though i dont accutally poof the glitter on i open up the tip and kind of pour it out onto the glue. I dont like using the pots unless it has a shaker top (i bought some glitter from the henna page that came in shaker jars that work pretty good) I do not like using a brush because the glitter and glue tends to stick to the brush and clump up. Also, i have learned to try to position myself upwind of the customer if i cannot block the wind. That way you will not spray glitter all over them. (thought it will get all over you, but i have glitter from head to toe at the end of an event anyway so i dont care.)

You are right that the glue clumps up on the brush but I have some 91 percent I think it is and I dip the brush in that when I change colors and wipe it with a towel quick and do the next...the small amopunt of liquid thats on it helps the glitter stick to the brush better. The poofer bottles I have tried over and over and I just cant seem to get it out even..comes out in like spurts and then wastes alot it seems. I have a kit with 36 bottles of glitter and they are 8 ml bottles..so about 1 and a half inches high but each had about 1 inch of glitter in them and they have poofer lids but they dont squeeze cuz they are glass and half the time it seems I couldnt get it out so tried just pouring it without the lid and it seemed to waste alot. I have done 2 family reunions, a relay for life and a festival plus several just on friends and stuff and the only color that I am less then half on is the black and the red and I am real low on them..maybe a eighth of an inch left so it does go along way. I think I will have enough of all colors to get thru this weekend but am gonna order new for my next one and also I got some new tats today from faketoos and it seems he makes them as they are ordered cuz they came not cut but in sheets, but the quality of them seems a little better then the quality of the others. He has alot of sports emblems. Wish he had a bigger selection. And he says to run a credit card over the tat before taking it off the white backing then after its on the skin do it again before removing the top and it will help alot with the removing of it to keep it on the skin..some are really hard to get off without having to redo them by hand on the arm..not an easy task...especially the ones with curly q's on them.
