I was just hired to do face painting at a Harry Potter 7 movie party in November. I will be painting on people between the ages of 16 and 24. I really need some ideas for harry potter themed face painting tat is still adult enough to please this age group. Does anyone have any pics or advice about this? I would really appriciate any help.

Hmmm, very interesting party PP.
I am afraid I do not know too much about HP, but I do know that you could do : Harry's scar, The Houses of Hogwarts (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff,Ravenclaw and Slytherin). There are pictures of these logos widely available on the net. Just type in "Ravenclaw Crest" (or any of them) and go to immages.
Hope this helps!

If i were at this party and i wish i were. I would be thrilled if you could to the dark mark, if you need a reference image there is a rough image on the back cover of the 6th book The Half-Blood Prince, the classic lightning bolt would work. The coat of arms for the four houses the Four house symbols which are a lion standing on its hind lefs the snake a reaven and a badger. Umm...magic wand, cristal ball... golden snitch broom stick, potion bottle, a giant spider(Aragog). there are many you could do. I am a huge fan of Harry Potter and if you need any info just shoot me a PM i will be glad to answer any questions. But be careful becasue Harry Potter and all its symbols are trademark, so there is a possible lawsuite there if anyone from the company is there. FYI i am giong to the midnight showing here in Indy as Lord Voldemort. Im way to excited to answer this questoin and talk about Harry Potter... im a true H P NERD

I'm a pretty big fan of Harry Potter as well. Coming up with designs isn't a huge problem, but coming up with designs that will appeal to adults is. It's just a private party at someone's house so I'm not too worried about copyright infringment. I know the girl who's throwing it. Me and her grew up togather. We sort of grew up with Harry as well we were about 11 or 12 when we started reading the books (about the same age as harry when he started to school) and each time a book came out we were about the same age as he was in the book. So this party is for those who grew up with Harry (I'm accually partally a guest but she's paying me to paint as well)
I have lots of ideas im working on but it's hard to make designs based on a children's book adult enough.

Well if I think of adult face painting I think of faces of some characters, like Snape (if that's even possible!), owls and other creatures from the movies, but in a realistic and maybe somewhat dark style.
I don't know anything about face painting, but I know that the more realistic, serious and dark something looks like, the more people from older ages like it.

Scars and snitches are probably a best bet.
