I'm thinking about buying this DVD, but I want your opinions first. What do you think, is it worth the price tag? Are there other DVD's on this subject? Do any you have this DVD, if so, did it help? Thanks in advance. Justin.

I never saw it, but it is not that much money. If you get one good idea out of it I think it will be worth it!

Alpha Clown - If you have specifics to torrents that you think are worth getting, I'd love to see those. Thanks.

As for the series from this performer, I was a little turned off after looking at all of his Birthday Party series. Upon reviewing the rest of his site, I noticed that he had a lot of information on circus and freak shows from times past. So, I decided I'd take a look.

I just ordered every piece of educational material on his site that related to Circus, Birthday Parties, Clowns, Magic, Balloons, and the like. He gave me a pretty good deal on it too. I think I paid $150 or so and got all but the T-shirt and coffe mug...lol

Anyway... I look forward to watching it and seeing what he has to offer. If someone gets on here in the next few weeks or so and wants to email me for a review, feel free. I'd love to share what I've found on the DVDs, CDs, etc.

My first impressions (without seeing them yet) is that the quality will be very poor, but the material might have a gem or two in it.

Only time will tell...

OK I've watched the video, and fell asleep halfway through, went back and tried watching it again. As stated on his site the quality is very poor, which is OK since I knew that when I ordered it. I am a fan of his pod cast on sideshow so I ordered anyway. There is a lot of information here that a newcomer, like myself, can find some value in. There is also some things that I don't agree with, But again he states this himself on the DVD. The info is good although personally I wouldn't pay for his show for one of my kids. He is a kids Magician and when in clown he is really just a magician in a clown costume (his words not mine). His balloons are mediocre and he has to have his son explain how to make them. But I really didn't buy the DVD to learn how to put on HIS show, so if I take the info from the DVD and apply it to my show I would say that it was a good buy. Am I glad I bought it, yes, would I recommend it, Maybe. Do I think that all the info on his DVD can be found right here on this forum, definitely

It is tough these days as technology has become so readily available, every Tom Dick and Harry can produce their own videos very easily, to make sure what you are buying isn't crap. I would still encourage people to research their PURCHASES and not just pirate everything they can find. Have I done it? Sure. I feel though that if you use even one thing from the video and don't purchase a legit copy, you are no better than a mugger on the street, a common criminal. Even if it is crap... thats how those people are making their living.

I bought everything on his site and it just came in today. I'll be letting you all know what I think as I get to look at more of the materials.

All the best,

YBM.

Mr. Fudge I would love to hear what you thought of his stuff. Do you recommend any of them?

I've looked and listened to all I could handle. I got through the birthday party DVD and I listened to the sounds of the Bally Callers Circus DVD.

I have to say that I don't think anything of real value was in the DVD that anyone here didn't already know. To give you an idea, he swears up and down that Yellow Pages ads are the way to go. So, that tells me many of his methods are a little out dated. That beings said, he did have some good advice about what listing to put it under. Don't list as an "Entertainer" unless you are a pretty girl in a nightclub. Rather, list under Birthday Party, Clown, or Balloons.

I would not recommend this DVD to anyone looking to learn. There is MUCH better on the market. And if there's not, I'll happily put a DVD together for those interested.

Wishing you all the best,

Jonathan Fudge.

And now that I've been asked, I'm going to try and watch the DVD on Performing at Picnics and Sell your show.

I'll let you know what I think of those as soon as I'm done or (if I forget) the next time someone asks about it.

I started watching his marketing DVD and I have to say that it was MUCH better than his Birthday DVD. It was obviously filmed after the first one was. It was slightly outdated, but I think much of it can still be useful.

The Notes Sections - I feel like this wastes time in the DVD and could have been filled with more valuable content. Just the same, I guess it's good he reviewed what his outline was.

The Quality - The quality is still just as low, but in this DVD it is a little better. So, I am happy about that.

The Philosophy - Okay.... This is just my opinion. I didn't like SOME of the things he said. So, I put this here. However, I DID like some if the stuff covered.

Nitpicking - He starts off with "If you bought me a beer, this is what I'd tell you." I just don't like the idea of seeing a children's entertainer drinking. I think it is a bad image for the rest of the entertainers. On the same note, I understand what he's saying. "This is what I would tell you if you were my buddy asking for advice."

WARNING - Opinions on the internet are a little outdated. For instance, he made the video in the days of Yahoo and AOL, before there was Google. So, be aware that things have changed on that front.

As far as the website stuff goes... I didn't get there yet. So, expect another review once I get done with it.

Missing: There were a LOT of other very cheap and useful ways to advertise that were not covered. So, be advised that it is not a FULL overview in any way. It does cover yellow pages, website, business cards, and he threw in a trick or two on how to present your business card.
