Homer,

Since Thanksgiving is a time of "counting our blessings", why not do a multiplication trick like the multiplying foam balls or eggs? Start with some patter about how we might take our everyday circumstances for granted, but if we take the time to stop and think of all that God has blessed us with, we'll be amazed at how many things we can count. As you're relating how many blessings we have, you can be making the foam balls or eggs or whatever multiply... the patter will keep everyone's mind engaged (and distract just enough so that nerves or sloppy hand-work don't look so obvious) and the idea that the objects just keep on coming will bring out the "ooh and ahh" responses.

That's just a vague idea; feel free to work with it or not. Whatever you choose to go with, let us all know how it goes!

Regards,

SB

If you wanted to make it a little longer, you could use any number of magic devices to illustrate all there is to be thankful for in your life. Depending on what you have in your magic cupboard, you could use: magic Wallet (that keeps producing flowers), Lotta bowl (endless stream of water) Blooming Bouquet, Dove Pan (producing whatever you want), Change Bag or production box (Producing 30-foot streamer)etc. You could make this quite entertaining and lengthy, depending on your needs.

Pluck a turkey and tell the audience to be thankful you're not him?

i do a paper tear...i make it myself on computer. I type up a list of 10 things im thankful for (clothes, family, ect) I read each one and tear it off! I get to number 1 and its not there i then open up the torn peices of paper to show it whole and says 1. JESUS! always gets good response from kids and adults! (REALLY CHEAP too)
