My church is having a blood drive next Monday. I spoke with the Pastor and informed him of my objections to the blood drive. It is my understanding that Christ shed His blood on the cross, so we don't have to.

true story. So if you're in the area, stop by and give a pint or two. (I think Pastor is going to incorporate that into Sunday's sermon  )

I don't mean to sound ugly but I don't see any humor in this joke and as a Christian, I find it very offensive! But I do like some of the other jokes you posted.

Darrell - I too am a bonified card carrying born again Christian that is afflicted with a wild sense of humor. Brought up Methodist, Baptist and of course attended some Catholic services, I currently have found a nice home for the past 9 years in a Lutheran (LCMS) church where I actively participate. I am sorry that you take offense to that line - but maybe if you know that it comes from the lips of another Christian, you might be able to see the humor.

The fact is, Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross and died for our sins and paid the price that we should have paid. In short, Jesus shed his blood, so we don't have to.

And even though I don't see the blasphemey, please accept my sincere apologies for the offense that you derived from my posting as I do not want to turn anyone off or appear to be mocking "the faith." It was a simple correlation to "shedding" my own blood for the blood drive.

To SME,

I think I should have kept me opinion to myself. I don't want to come across as someone who uses this forum as their "pulpit."

From now on, I will keep my negative opinions of jokes to myself. It is up to the moderators to determine what is appropriate and not appropriate, and not me. I hope you post more jokes in the future because they are very helpful with developing new patter. If you get desperate enough, you could use jokes I post from time to time, LOL!

I hope I haven't discouraged you from participating in this forum. 8)

Darrell - no offense taken on my part. I do intend on posting more jokes, hopefully they will be tasteful and funny and all who read will laugh their donkey off! - but most likely, I'll get a chuckle to myself and post it anyway :D

Minnie - I would be honored to have you use that in a gag. I feel that too often Christian clowning is so story and parable focused that it misses a punch line. That's why I have yet to consider myself as part of Ministry Clowning - even though that is mainly what we do (when we do it). I know that my avatar no longer says I'm a "newbie clown", but I'm still a-learnin' !! :D
