I was looking through the resolutions thread and noticed a lot of people were going to attempt to learn to juggle this year. This got me thinking about learning to juggle and all of the different methods I have seen used to teach jugglers. The I got wondering how I would teach someone to juggle and going one step further would it be possible to do via the internet never actually meeting my students? I figure I will give it ago and try to put together a couple videos taking it nice a slow to get people from never even held a juggling ball through being comfortable doing it as part of their show.

What I need to know is...

Who are my students?

What types of ball like juggling props are available to the average clown?

Once I get the first video up I will post a link in this thread.

There are cheap bean bags for sale in most magic shops and toy stores.

If you want to teach with a traditional rubber ball there are alway Lacross balls. they are around 2 dollars a peice and are avalible in most sportig good stores.

Sir Toony has a website called Clown Network. The Clown Network (http://www.theclownnetwork.com/index.php)

Under the Juggling tab, he listed the Juggling Database IJDb - Internet Juggling Database (http://www.jugglingdb.com/) which has excellent online instructions with animated diagrams. Things are explained very clearly--much more than on the brief CD that came with a set of Duncan juggling balls I bought at the local toy shop.

It's helping me, though I'm not quite there yet. I can manage about two full juggles with three ball before everything ends up on the floor.
