Hey, all. I shared not too long ago how I was going to visit my friend in Hospice as Jubilee the Clown. I did that last Sunday morning and it was wonderful. Well, James went to be with the Lord yesterday and I am even more grateful that I went to see him one last time. His eyes lit up to see Jubilee there and he laughed at my corny joke as I was leaving.
As I was reflecting on all of this yesterday, I came up with a silent clown skit that I will be performing at church this Saturday in preparation for James' funeral. I'm a little nervous about it as I have never done a "memorial" type skit and I've never done something that I came up with on my own!! Have any of you experienced this before?

Writing something new on your own is scary but exciting. It helps to video tape your practice, then you can see for your self how it works. People are usuually they're own worst critic. Consider volunteering for Hospice on a regualar basis. Laughter is the best medicine. I work in Home Heath/Hospice, company policy doesn't allow employees to volunteer but they let me come once a month to the hospital and it's been great. There have been times that I'm the only vistor that patient has had while in the hospital. I've had patients tell me that they feel better because I visit. I've had elderly men get out of bed and wait by their doors for me to come to their room. I get free hugs., and even one marriage proposal.:lol I still have nurses who's first reponse is there aren't any children on their floor, but now I have nurses who sent me in the give the good new "your going home".

Thanks, Sue. That helps me feel better. I live in a pretty metropolitan area, which can be a blessing and a curse because it's hard to get into hospitals with all the red tape, but my pastor knows a lot of people at nursing homes and such, so I'm going to try and go that route first.
I just want to share the joy of the Lord so much!
