Does anyone have any ideas for magic tricks to tell the story of the prodical son and maybe sight gags to go with it? thanks in advance and I,ll thank you again afterward

"Godspell",the movie, would be an appropiate resource.

There are several tricks that can be used. It all depends on the patter.

You can use a stripper deck. Pick the Ace of Spades as the father and the two sons as the red aces. You hide and produce the prodigal son as needed.

you can also do something with a svengalli deck. The prodigal son is the loaded card in the situation. You make him appear in different places in the deck.

There is a small stage effect named Stratosphere. it uses two tubes (one clear) a disappearing box and four balls. Two red one yellow and the last green. One of the red balls is always hidden from sight. You make this the prodigal and have it turn up a couple times.

All three of the effects can be purchased at you local magic shop. There are also fairly simple and only require minimal dexterity.
