Dear whoever will listen:

Hi! I already introduced myself, so it's already obvious that I need help finding resources to help me with Miming and Magic (of any kind).

But I need more help than that...

You see, I need suggestions for my coustume. It's not...well, it's not past developement stages, and only about 1/5 done, because of a clown ministry thing that my mom kinda forced me in (but I changed my mind about clowning afterward).

Okay, so far, I have a grey suit-jacket (It's sleeveless, and has those tails at the bottom), and a cane (topped with one of those diamond door nobs). I know that I'll need white gloves, a top hat, my purple-striped stockings, and my shoes with pink star shoelaces.

I'm trying to get the color sceme to be basically mainly Pink and Purple, with Grey for a few things. Ritz is also supposed to be kinda...slightly snooty, like "Putting on the Ritz"-ish, and kinda like a 19th century aristocrat (but more silly looking).

What I really need help with is the stuff underneith the suit jacket, and the pants, because I'm basically at a loss for those.

Oh, and I have a friend that I'd most likely be working with (His name's Ribbit, and he's supposed to be 6 *holds up eight fingers* years old), who's color sceme is the same as my mom's (Green, Yellow, Orange, and accents of Black), adn I don't want to be the triplet.

Erm...I know that's kinda asking a lot of you. I'm just not really sure where to go, and again, I'm very new and the only thing I know is what I see from my mom.

Thankies again!

-Ritz

Gee, What a terrible mother - forcing you to do clown ministry! At my church, the rector wanted the entire group to participate - many, many people were forced to do clown ministry! Even my own daughter had to do it and she called herself Ritz.

hey, wait a minute. Are you Ritz, my daughter?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

*(Darth Vader voice)* Ritz! I am your mother! Come over to the clown side!

hee hee hee!

Pink blouse and purpleish (maybe striped) pants?

Really, the best suggestion I can give is to just try different things, being playful. Sometimes you fall into this stuff more than planning it. Or as one of my mentors notes, your personal style comes from your mistakes.

Well, Ain't it the truth......

Some time what DOESN'T work is more obvious than what does.

Personally, I think a purple long sleeved gynastic type top would be cute with maybe a pink ruffly thingie on your neck--Like a little tutu necklace? Lots of sparkly jewelry would be great for the "snooty" look--fake diamond necklace, earrings, and bracelet? And maybe some black or grey very nicely tailored pants or slacks?
Just some suggestions. Good luck!

*Takes down notes in thin air*

Yeah, I like your idea, Jitterbug. The pants sound like what I was thinking, though I was also thining of stealling my mom's trim on the end *but making it not sewing related*.

The tutu thing...you mean like what the people in Englad used to wear, like *this is the only cartoon I can remember it in* in Pocahontas 2, where the person who's announcing people to the ball has one around his neck...

I like it!

NOOOO! No, it can't be! It' can't be...

Oh, wait. It can! :D

YES!! That's exactly what I meant. Kinda hard to describe those thingies! Wouldn't that be cute? even a small one would work. Like Queen Elizabeth used to wear? Except her's was GINORMOUS!!
Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

consider a shaby top hat [talk with tuxedo dealer [prom, wedding etc], they may keep a look out on one of there's that's damaged and let you have it, free or cheap.

I would go with a pair of sturrip [sp?] pants. They would give you flexiblity an still give you clean lines. Something that mimes are really big on.

I like the sleeveless jacket with tails, but I think you could get away from gray completely. Also the jacket I made you for the clown ministry was pieced to create the tails. Sewing them from scratch will eliminate the seam across your backside!

You know the deal though - learn two skills, then I'll make you a costume.

As far as your makeup, we can experiment with traditional mime looks as well as Auguste. Then you can take your chosen face to the vendors at the next convention. They will help you pick your nose! Hey, bring Ribbit and you can help pick your friend's nose, too!

Eeeeewwwww!
