Does anyone have an assistant for their act/show?
I was just wondering because in some situations, we need help carrying props etc.
Do you hire someone or use a family member?

We have a church clown group so we assist each other but for the Hospital and Nursing home there is only two of us but we split up and do it solo, Try to get out in less than 5 hours, now the two of us can do it in 3 hours that 4 floors all private rooms.

My sister-in-law got interested in clowning recently and is very artistic, so she and I have made an arrangement that she will come to my gigs and do facepainting while I concentrate on balloon twisting and such. Eventually, she'll go solo, but it's a confidence booster to be able to go with someone else for a while. Plus, it helps with crowd control. Haha.

For us nowadays it has once again become a family thing. My wife and daughter help with puppetry and I do my thing sometimes helped by my wife 'Candy' (depending on her health). My son prefers to remain behind the scenes and operate the sound system and when possible the lighting. We share the rodie work between us with my son and I handling all the heavy work.

At large events and festivals, Smartsy (my hubby) is in charge of loading the car, setting up and take down. He handles the money, crowd control, making sure kids don't butt in line and prevents soda and melted ice cream from getting spilled on my display board, reminds me to take a sip of water frequently because I don't take breaks and I forget all the time, and the overall well being of the day. My job is to facepaint non-stop. I couldn't do it without him, nor do I want to do it without him. He takes a lot of the grief off of me.
