I stumbled onto this site, but I'm very interested in any Christian clown skits you care to share. I'm relatively new to clowning. Only about 3 years. I don't get to clown very much, but love what I have done so far. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.

I've been a Christian clown for about 6 years but have recently become a member of a church that is divided and is in terrible pain. I would like to be able to do a skit regarding this and perhaps help heal a little. Any ideas would be appreciated. The skit would have to be for 1 or 2 people. Thanks.

Hi Ticcadeeboo,

I tried to get to the website you posted www.fea.net/bobsnet and was told The Page Cannot be Found, is that the right web address?
I clink on the link you sent and re-typed it in.

Thanks,

Hi Tug and all wonderful clowns, I am new but I would like to know if I too can receive your (Tug) skits?

Also, does anyone know the correct website that ticcadeeboo tried to post? I get an error message when I click on the one in her message.

Happy Clowning all...

Hi Tug,

We too would be glad to receive your christian clown skits. We are most excited about catching up with clowning as is done the world over. Apart from Christian clown skits (which we are already doing on a very adhoc basic) we would be delighted to receive skits of general nature too. Do write to us at madhatters@rediffmail.com
Ciao.

This is a response to the FAQ for Christian Clown Skits. People have been asking for them here, for as long as I've been visiting this site. God bless you Tug for your patience in responding so helpfully so many times over. And, yes, ME TOO, I'd just love to receive some of your material.

But looking longer-term, it strikes me that what we need is an on-line "bank" where people can post their own ideas for sketches, and pick up the ideas of others. I hereby promise to make quite a few deposits, if only someone more knowledgable than I on computers, will set up the system to handle it.

OK, so it WILL get plagiarised, butwhat's the problem. As Paul says somewhere, whether for the right motives or for the wrong ones, Christ is being preached, and for that I rejoice.

There are a few other recurring questions - which are obvious if one looks back over earlier postings - which could be more efficiently accomodated by a set-up which would refer folk first to FAQ's.

One final plea to all you posters - please remember that there is a whole world of clowning outside of the US of A. Therefore it might be helpful to say where you are posting from, when sharing your news items.

With love in the Lord, and in His service,

Sincerely,

Derek A Finch, (aka Mr.Custard)

I'm completely new to this, but have been niggled at for literally years now that I ought to try this as an extension of some of the other kids' outreach programs that we do at our church. I am both a Clown and a website author. I will be very glad to create an on-line "bank" where people can post their own ideas for sketches, and pick up the ideas of others.

My website is to be found at www.truth2tell.co.uk and it currrrently covers clowning and puppetry. If people could e-mail me with their sketches at Gilbert@truth2tell.co.uk I will create an area on my website.

I also have some free e-books and a free e-zine so if you have any puppet skits or clown or puppetry related articles I would be glad to include them in the e-zine.

If you have a website I would be very glad to exchange links and I am hoping to provide a website review area soon.

By the way Tug could you add me to your list please

If you are a skit writer, I am willing to post your skits and any credits and/or links that are relevant. To have a skit included it must be free for non-profit use. Skits must also fit within the ethics of truth2tell.

An excellent source on this topic is:
-The Clown Ministry Handbook
and
-Everything New and Who's Who in Clown Ministry. both by Janet Litherland.

These books contain general clowning information as well as Gospel skits. they're older books (80's and 90's) but still in print and available through Meriwether Publishing Ltd (www.meriwetherpublishing.com).

Also there's something called Contemporary Drama Service (a division of Meriwether Publishing) that handles all kinds of Christian plays , clowning skits as well, I'm on their mailing list. (www.contemporarydramaservice.com).

When I first encountered the first book, it was in a public library, later I bought both books over the internet.

Go for it-Blessings on you

Tell us more about what you'd like to do with the skit. It might help us offer more particular ideas.

What type of event is it NSND? Is there a theme to the event? Is there a theme you would like to work with? We need some kind of details. It is kind of like going up to a stranger and saying I need to buy a car in 48 hours what do you suggest? A brand new Rolls Royce and a 1987 Yugo are both cars.

Shad - read back a little bit. Originally I forgot to add the websites, but now I did, where there are hundreds of Christian Drama Skits, many of them humorous. I have taken some and just "clownified" them to fit my needs. After checking out these sites try Googling the site names and then check out similar sites.

Hey guys i found a skit and tweaked it and i figured why not type it out here :o:o for someone else to use well here it is. :applause::applause:

Props needed: Bird Cage, Blanket to put over Bird Cage, and a Toy Dog/Real Dog to put inside bird cage.

BEING A CHRISTIAN
Hey everybody look at what I brought to school today. I bought a bird cage with my pet bird named Tweetie, but before I introduce him to you I have to ask you all a question. What makes a person a Christian? (Let a couple of kids give answers)

You know some people think that if you just go to church, then you're a Christian. But that's not always true is it? Hey I almost forgot, do you want to see my pet bird now? Ok let me remove this cover off this cage. (At this the kids will point and laugh and will point out very quickly "That's not a bird!")

Sure It's a bird.----Is this not a bird cage?
People put birds in bird cages right?
Then this must be a bird.

OK everybody your right. This dog is not a bird, even if he is inside of the bird cage. It takes more then being in a bird cage to be a bird.

Hey you can be born in a garage, but that does not make you a car.

Or you can sleep in a barn, but that doesn't make you a big ol cow, does it?

But most of all, you can be raised in church. Or you can come to church every week of your life, and that still does not automatically make you a Christian.

So what is a Christian then?

A Christian is a person who wants to be Christ Like. Believing that Jesus is God.
That God Himself came to Earth in the form of man and lived a completely sinless life.

Jesus is the perfect example of the way we should live.

--------------------The End----------------------------

There you go I just figured since i had this i would share it thanks for reading this if you got to read it hope you guys have a great day

From,
Nsnd

Hi clowns, there is so much e-mail addresses back and forth in this thread, why not each one put in just one skit, than there is a lot to choose from, and you can even see if u must put something else, if your skit is already down. If you don't know, try get some Sunday / churchclass / kids bible text books, and rewrite the lessons to be done in a clownish way. I'll give you two skits solong, some of you may know and some might not.
1. Volunteer choose a card from a big jumbo pack and when he replace his card you hold out a normal size pack. Let him shuffle. Try to find the card or let the kids help you ( for them it is more funny because it is so obvious ) . As easy as it is to find the card between all the other, as easy it is for God to find you, so remember you can never hide from God.
2. Take a lamp and show the cord. The globe is your heart, the cord is your line with God. Your power comes from God. If the globe is taken out, it's dead. If you cover the lamp with a big hat, it is all the worlds troubles that try to darken your heart. But as long as you pray and read Gods word, your power will endure and your globe will stay burning.

Skits are good from the clown ministry page. Remember as clowns we do not necessarily need "clown" generated skits (meaning specific to clowns or written for clowns)

TRY puppet skits...they can be adapted for YOU!

I will look for more help on this subject...

I will be able to use them right away. As we are doing a fundraiser clown show at our church for church camp. The show will be this next Wed. night and I was looking for some fill-ins.
Maybe this week-end when I have more time I can let you know a couple of skits we will be doing.

If you're needing filler skits, look under the "filler skits in the general section, not all skits at a ministry event need to tell a message, some are just for fun, You're welcome to my Treasure Box skit as well it on here, just hit search. I also have one in the article section, but it's dealing with grief. As some one mentioned puppet skits can often be adapted, and check out www.clown-ministry.com (http://www.clown-ministry.com) they have ministry related skits as well.

(contemporarydramaservice.com (http://www.contemporarydramaservice.com)).

When I first encountered the first book, it was in a public library, later I bought both books over the internet.

Go for it-Blessings on you
Walmoe
UPDATE 11/13/10 These publications still exist.

Often people request clown skits... I have several books, other's I've learn, some from here, from www.clownministry.com (http://www.clownministry.com), and some I've written. It is to many to send to every one plus would violate copywright. I'm sure there are more here the same way. If you have some thing in particular you're looking for or a set theme. Then I'd suggest requesting that and you may get more results, or ideas that would let you develope your own skit.

another thing if any of you are into the ministry side of things, consider the "Fellowship of Christain Clowns" the Clown and The cross mag. often offers different insights into clowning as part of ministry and they also share some skits. Welcome to the Fellowship of Christian Clowns International Web site (http://fcclowns.com/index.htm), South East conference is coming up in Feb. Brenda Marshall, who was guest chat one night that serveral of you got to talk with was one of the instructors at this event.

I sent Tony as message as I couldn't get the link to work and he said the one coming up wasn't sponsored by the FCC. If any one has any info on it send it my way please.

Hey guys,

I am a children's pastor and incorporate my clowning into my lessons frequently. I'm wondering if anyone has an Easter skit that involves balloon animals I can send home with the kids? I have several of Ralph Dewey's balloon animal books, and I have the information about making the flower that is like the color Bible (no words, just the colors and tell the story), but I need just one animal or something I can relate to the Easter story and send home with the kids.
Any bright ideas?
Thanks in advance!!!
