I've decided it's time to put up or shut up. I'm trying to learn to juggle. I got the book juggling for the complete klutz which came with three bean bag cubes. i'm better that ever but I still drop 'em every time. Ive noticed when I throw number three that it takes off on a real erratic path. I can toss two without trouble, but three is another story! Sometimes I perform the cascade and end up with two in my right starting with my left. I am a southpaw for what it's worth.
Can anybody help I've determined to do this, and feel like I'm very close but can't figure out how to fix this erratic throw :(

Thanks in advance.

:) My speciality

Juggling is one of the most rewarding activities ever and there is absolutely NO limit to what you can do.

Scruffy, rather than start with the cascade which is traditionally considered the "Way clowns juggle" , learn how do do the standard 3 ball toss.

I'm sure you notice yourself eventually walking forward, always try and throw back a little each time, it makes a difference.

Regarding the cascade, practice with two first, the important thing is making sure not to join your hands. Practice (In your case) passing the lower ball from your right to your left hand whille looking up. Youll get a feel for it eventually.

Juggling is more of a "Practice makes perfect" activity that most others.

Hope this helped.

I'm working on juggling too. I have some homemade bean bags that are pretty pathetic looking, but considering it was my first attempt at sewing I guess they're not too bad. I've been working on doing this for a few months now, and can keep the formation going for about 2-3 minutes. The hardest thing I think is to keep them in the circle formation. Once you loose that, the balls just seem to fly erratically. I have yet to actually do this before a group since I'm still in the practicing stages, but if I drop them, I guess I would just make it part of my act....:)

Oh, I love juggling, but I drop them like crazy. They say practice makes perfect, though! I won't give up.

I juggle too Scruffy. I use the cascade and found the following helpful when I started. Take two balls of different colours and choose a colour to 'lead' the 'pattern'. Each pattern consists of throwing the lead ball to the second hand and back again. Each pattern is completed when you catch the lead ball in it's starting hand. If you practice like that and can keep two balls going then adding the third is just a matter of confidence.

You will find that you are using exactly the same patter for three as you do for two. The only difference is that when you juggle two balls you have 1 or zero balls in your hand at any given time and when juggling three balls you have 1 or 2 balls in your hand.

Hi Scruffy
The reason the third ball flys eradicly is because you are droping your hand when you catch the second ball and are throwing it from too low of a position. If you bring your hands up to where you are almost throwing the balls at your face, they won't fly away from you. If this doesn't work try facing a wall, this does two things it takes away all distractions and if the balls fly away from you they hit the wall and come back. Remember just watch where the ball peaks not it going to your hands.
Good luck

Well, I'm getting better, I made a full pass the other day.Caught them all, I think it was a lucky shot....

Still throwing, getting a lot of crunches in from picking up balls.... 8O

It's all in the throwing Scruffy. When I do workshops I tell people to throw the balls through imaginary boxes just above each eye. Left hand to right box and right hand to left box. If the ball starts returning inside the box you will be able to get your hand into position more easily.
