I did it.....I finally got her running.........:)
It looks like the carb was the culprit, and it was expensive but I did it myself!!!! Atleast I saced the expense on the labor. Now she needs a new tire, and shes ready to entertain the kids again!!!!!!!!!!!
When I started her the neighbors ran over from my screams, thinking that something was wrong.....:)

congrats I hope to see pics as I havn't heard about gertie before this.
Gertie is in the pics here.....she's a classic '74 VW Superbug I bought from the PO and with some paint, stuffed animals and advertisment I've turned her into a clown car!
