I decided to try getting on a unicycle yesterday... The bruises will go away eventually. I used the wall to lean on got it balanced upright; And went over side ways. I have compelling interest in trying it again. Amongst matresses..an lots of padding.. :)

While learning to play drums in Albuquerque, my teacher who was a bicycle repairman had a unicycle (performing) troupe and wnen taking lessons (in the shop) I'd see some of them practicing and often they would use the side of the big workbench to right themselves.. Might i say that you have more guts than I, I never tried to get up on one- I didn't want a busted head.

I've always wanted to laen to ride a monocycle but have never been able to justify the money I would have to invest to purchase one. Good on you Scruffy. Keep practicing and you will get there!

well, no concussion. And I didn't hurt when I got up in the morning. I'm game to try learning it. But I think I'll go for a 20 inch I think the one I tried was a 24....

You know they make pants with extra padding on hips for people who fall alot [hip protectors]
Just kidding, Your braver than me. I fall just walking, I'd hate to see the danger of others if I tried it.
But seriously, until you learn, protect your head, this come from experience, you'd be surprized at the brain injuries I've seen from, skateboards, bikes, inline skate.

Kudos on Courage, Scruff...

I'd like to try one in the near future, but like Gilbert I don't known if I could justify the expenditure.

In the meantime I've got a cute little tricycle of my daughters I'm thinking of dusting off for next July 4th parade and giving it a whirl...

I didn't buy one. I tried it in a shop. I would like to find on of those little pocket bike or a money bike. I missed one at a yard sale earlier this summer. They have 6' wheels and are built for an adult to be able to ride it.
I have been watching on Ebay of a decent one. But I can't justify the expense either. I've been unemployed since Februaury.
