I guess trying to stay with the limeline is starting to pay off...

October is gonna be my busiest month yet, and I'm soooo excited.

I've got the slumber party the 8th, 2nd scheduled appearances for the pizza parlor place, a 4 day long festival that starts the 14th, a 5k fun run for the local school district, another school fall festival on the 22nd, and then the Halloween weekend.

I imagine that Christmas is gonna be Chaos!

Anyways, anybody got any good advice on what to do for the 5k Freedom Run I'm doing the morning of 16th? Here's what they need: volunteers to help guide the runners on the right path and cheer them on. I'm currently brainstorming for ideas, but since I've not done a race yet, not quite sure where to start...

The school fall festival is gonna be a blast also. The theme is western, so although I'm not normally a cowboy clown, I'm looking into additions to my costume to help fit with the theme.

Busy, busy, busy...

You could get two pom pom's and do a cheergirl style routine making up different cheers for different numbers eg 'Go Go number 8 you can get the winners plate' etc.

We were at the local 5k walk to defeet ALS, prior to the walk I went around with a feather duster "to make sure we kept this walk clean", later used a flash light to "shine shoes", but the walk was on a track so there was music and we would cheer the walkers amd occasionally joining them for part of the walk, high stepping, or linking arms, this walk was more for fun, and fundraiser, not an actual race so we had more lead way on the track then you'd take at a race.

I like the feather duster idea, that's a good one. I might have a little movement, but they mainly want us to stay in one place I think. I normally have a big tie I wear with my name proudly displayed on it, but what I may do is make a large banner to wear with the number 3 3/8 on it front and back, and kind of pretend I'm in the race with the others.

The ideas are still cookin'.....

Just hope that none of them gets burned!

I love that idea but as a clown you should really go with the number 3.142 because it is the value of pie!

Sheer brillance Sir Gilbert! :)

If you don't mind me using that I'll add that idea to my notebook

(taking out very large clown pencil fashioned by Bipco and posing it at the ready to inscribe Gil's great idea)

I posted it for your benefit Bips, but it's free for all clowns to use :D Hmm, Sir Gilbert, I like the sound of that, but I thought it was up to the queen to give out knighthoods  By the way where did you get the 'Cat in a hat' hat, it's really cool! 8)

Thanks! I live with this great person called my wife Becky, and she does some of the best shopping around these parts...

She got it at one of our local stores and one of my favorites, TOYS "R" US, in the clearance section. One thing that is particularly great about it is the fact that it has NO symbols or letterings showing it's direct relationship to the movie, although from its design and coloring the connection is obivous. It even has SPRING action! I can push the top down to the top of my head, and it will gently pop back up! I usually dance to some music they play at the pizza place, and it will sway back and forth! I love it...:)

Your hat is cool. I tend to avoid wearing a hat a the pizza place where I clown because they keep the heating up too high. The heat causes problems with my balloons too but I've learnt to under inflate them enough to get around that. Still it does make the moddeling more difficult.

Really? I did have one of the employees who wanted to try and twist some animals so I gave him two and they popped pretty quick with all of that heat. I warned him before hand though, but it was my first trip there, and I guess he wanted to show his stuff. Seems to be a common thing with guys and clowns. Dads always like to crack jokes or give a try at the ole twisting.

Is it a macho thing you think?

I just play along....:)

I had a little girl ask me to please come to her dreams tonight, and it knocked me out of my patter for a few seconds. I told her of course I would be there, and I'll bring all my toys...

Yep, you bet it is! A guy sees another guy being successful at something and there is an immediate urge to compete. Especially in front of their women or family. I call it the 'show-off instinct'. It's the emotional part of us men that never gets killed off during puberty.
