Hi all,
I have gotton my set routine down to a tee right now and I would say I am relatively happy with it.
I have now got a problem that I am going to be clowning for the same group of people again and obviously cannot put on the same act as they have seen before.
How do you all deal with this situation?

The best thing is to have a few different routines. Maybe keep back a few tricks or gags and do them the next time you clown for that group. Also, some routines can be "adjusted" so that you don't even know you're watching the same thing again. It's a matter of keeping yourself open to change. Smile.

Keep a note book with all your parties [groups]
keep track of what you did for each party
Have several small routines, magic, etc.
note what went over big [they often ask you back because they want to see you 'do it again'
this makes it easier to recall what you did, how it worked and what you can add or delete from the next show for the same, group, to make it different.

If you are dealing with kids, they don't mind seeing the same thing over and over again.
In fact they perfer it sometimes. Disney cartoons on VHS are one of the hottest gifts for kids, they wear those tapes out watching them over and over again. As long as you are entertaining they don't care what you are doing. If you are not entertaining it won't matter how many new tricks you bring to the party. Chances are some time will go by between shows for the same group and kids don't remember what you did anyway.

I reccommend that you have a few different tricks that you can rotate in your show. Same with walkarounds. Variety is important. No one wants to be thought of as a one-trick-wonder so mix a few things up

I do a lot of work with the same people ( my Church) This means that I am always thinking up new ideas and rarely repeat them. I think you will find that some of your material is re-usable and some needs changing. as long a the final mix is fresh and entertaining you will be fine.
