I got black scuff marks on my shiny vinyl blue clown maryjanes. They were from when the edge of the black sole of the other foot brushed against the upper of the shoe. No amount of normal scrubbing, not with citrus based cleaner or anything gets the marks off.

does anyone have an idea how I can get the marks off without ruining the shiny vinyl?

That's a very good question Vivi-Ann. Please let us know what you find out. I've seen that on floor lenolium. Had that prob on my leather clown shoes and had to paint over. So let us know what you find. Spanks.

Have you tried an eraser? One of the more artsy variety, either art gum, or that other one. Drat can't remember the name. One is grey I think and more like chewing gum, the other is about the color of a Qualatex Mocha balloon, maybe a little lighter. It reminds me of the soles on some of my dress shoes. Also try the website www.clown-shoes.com (http://www.clown-shoes.com) They have information about taking care of your shoes.

I used "Goo Gone". It worked fairly well. Bon-Ami also works on the heavier marks. Don't use comet; too coarse. Bon-Ami is really a polishing compound. I use it to polish stubborn piano keys.

I have used lighter fluid, which sometimes takes it off- it is quick drying. I also found a spray bottle of KIWI Scuff Remover. It says "Kiwi Leather", but on the back of the bottle it says, "RECOMMENDED FOR ANY COLOR LEATHER OR VINAL SHOES".I have used it with great success

What about the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser? That seems to remove just about anything....

I use either goof off or oops.

Hi,i know this is silly but when i worked at the school and we had floor marks we used a tennis shoes bottom and rubbed it right off.

thanks for all the suggestions - now that i'm back from vincennes, I can get to my blue clown shoes!!!!! along with all the clown laundry I created in Indiana.
