Boy, yesterday was a day of rejection for me....

1) I had a meeting at work rescheduled where I might be able to twist balloon flowers for the other employees and earn profits for parties for the employees.

2) I had the mom email me about canceling the slumber party for this coming Friday...

3) My first advertisement came out in my daughter's school newsletter, but it was all messed up...

By the end of the day I was in a real funk, which is unusual for me. I'm usually a bright cheery person which is why clowning seems to work for me. I was seriously thinking, for just a hour or two, mind you, about maybe taking a break from clowning for a bit. I feel better this morning atfer a good nights sleep, but I pose this question to everyone.

Has any of you ever had such a depressing day that actually made you question what you do?

You bet I have! Quite often at the moment! I'm struggling to recruit new volunteers for a childrens club on Saturday mornings. I spent a full five minutes last Sunday pleading for volunteers and ZERO response! Ultimately it has just made me more determined but I did waver for two days first.

I used to suffer from depression until I learned about a possitive mind set. I see things getting to me all the time and yes it does make me question what I do. But I also remember that as long as I don't let it get to me I will be fine. No matter what it is I will survive and succeed.

well if i didnt have a bad day everyonce in a while at the rodeos id think somethin was wrong. everytime i got a good wack with a horn or kick from the other end i quetioned what i did. but the fact that i probably saved a life or two along the way and made somebody smile make the bad days a little less on the down side. and always remember to smile it confuses ppl.

Hang in there. Every one get days, like that, for me I get frustrated working with the younger joey's in my group. Not so much the ones I have but just recently have had two who are in the same age group want to join. The ones I have presently have a very involved mother who also attends the workshop and assist with practices and training, I don't want to hurt any one by not allowing in the group so we've made it a policy that if you want in, one parent must attend practice and agree to work with their child, get their own costume and make up, we'll guide of course, that way I don't get the once in while group. Had one want to perform at the last min for our Mininstry night [had him pass out programs] My other adult partner is often soft spoken and needs a lot of encouragement. Ooops sounds like I griping, well that answers it, What helps me is the hospital rounds that just the two of us and we go solo. Performing on my own is as much fun for me as the patients.

If you didn,t have a bad day how would you know what a good day was
And believe me the good ones more than make up for the one bad one

I have had to look at the fact that when I have bad days it's because I am on the right path with my life. That is when you are thrown many curves. You make people laugh and forget their troubles- that is so important. Keep up the great work and I will be praying for you!

Thanks guys, I knew that reading your thoughts on this would help me out...

I sometimes wonder if I might be bipolar, although my mood swings are not minute to minute, more like day to day. I am in a much better mood today, see my new post to see why!

Years ago I read something Lou Jacobs said.

"I've had good times and bad times. It may seem like a rough day today, but tomorrow may be a good day, and the sun may be shining in the next town."
There is a good life lesson in this. Focus on the positives. Paul said "all things work together for good..." It is true. Even the stuff we don't understand works out for our best.

I've had days like that too, but it does get better again. Seriously, I live with someone who is bipolar, so if you think you might have a health issue, go see a doctor about it. Medication and/or therapy can make a big difference. Truly!
