Many heavy duty twisters use a case made for scrap bookers. Place one on a little dolly like you can buy for the grocery store and volia!. Why not a belt? They distribute the weight well and really are not that heavy, even with a thousand balloons or more.

Big breasted women have trouble seeing their belt!

The Balloon twister at my class today at Clown 4 Christ had an amazing device that clips to your costume. It's made of plastic and holds hundreds of balloons and you can color coordinate them. He said that he was using a port-a-potty (lol) one day and saw that the window in there was this plastic mesh thing and realized that it would be the perfect device for holding balloons.
