I almost forgot to tell you guys about a cool Park gathering the city pays the Clown Alley for that we have starting tonight. This is their 4th year doing it, and my first year in participating. I'm gonna wear my glo sticks, the balloons are being supplied so I'm gonna make all kinds of cool balloon toys for the kiddies. It's underprivledged children night today, and it goes on all week long, but I don't know if I'll get to go other than tonight, because I've got two other events to attend.

BTW, Gilbert, I'm gonna make my racing sign tonight, 3.14 for the Saturday morning 5k run. It's over by 10am, but the weather forcast is so nice this weekend I think I'll stroll by a few places and kill some time entertaining because then I'm scheduled to show at a local Wal Mart for their Safety Awareness GTG, and that lasts until 5pm. I think I'll even go grocery shopping in the store towards the end, so I can enjoy some goodies this Sunday while I relax at home and watch the Cowboys beat the Steelers! :)

Bips that sounds great! I bought some neon balloons for my upcoming fair at the big Armory in Washington, DC in two weeks. I thought they would really pop indoors. Sounds like that would be fun for a night thing like what you're doing too!

First night out was last night, and it went pretty good. I had to drive around for a bit to find the volunteer parking area though. I rode in with one of my fellow clowners, Mrs. Cookie, who came dressed but without makeup. She's got a full time job, so she came straight from that.

Well, the table was set up, and two of the head clown were there twisting away.
Scruffy, one of them was Maggie, and this is the first time I worked with her side by side. I'll just say it was an "interesting" experience. She was there 20 minutes, and off to a party. She had premade designs for the kids to choose from, and some of them were very elaborate. Too much for me, although I did my best. I tried making a swan, and made the neck too long, and it turned out to be a giraffee swan!! :)

I stopped trying to make what was on the table, and started offering what I could do best, a dog, sword, flower, or zany hat. With the long line I knew I could whip these out quick. I sent the kids wanting what was on display to one of the other three clowns there to do.

BIPS is not a conformist, I'm finding out. He's wants things his way.... :)

After about an hour, the parents were coming back to get hats from me!!! I wasn't making anything special, and each of them were "special". I just did what came to mind, a couple of simple twists.

Anyways, it was a blast, and I'm going tonight, but more in a balloon entertainer outfit.

We'll see what happens....

Sounds like a blast, Bips. Wish I could have been there. The idea about cards printed with balloon designs works for facepainting too.
So you got to work with Maggie Huh? Cool.

It was great, but because of some personal scheduling conflicts I didn't get to go Friday or Saturday night.....

Oh well, there's the Western Carnival Friday, which I'm so looking forward to...
