Well, I mentioned to some on the chat that I was planning on making my first public clown appearance this Thursday at a monthly city event called Artwalk. The theme this month is dogs, so I have made myself a invisible dog leash, and I intend to put my hat over it, and walk my "very small" dog that is completely covered by the hat around. I think i am going to do some tricks too, and "lose" my dog at some point. I hope it works, and I will definitely tell you all how it goes or doesn't go.

have a fun and let us know how it goes.
what do ya call a dog with now legs? Nothing he can't come anyway.
what do ya call a dog that can't hear? Nothing he CAN'T hear.
Why did the dog lie under the tree, He didn't want to become a HOTDOG [I know terrible]

I once heard of a great walk around gag, where a clown was at a festival, saw a woman with a daushound, and went and grabbed his oversized hot dog bun props and went around the fair following the lady and trying to get the dog to get into the bun.

I will get pics if I can, this will be something to be rememberd.

That qualifies for using a groan button on. And you know I am an expert on groaners. Congratulations on such an accomplishment Sue.

Gongrats and I wish you loads of succes. I always though they where rabbits that hide under a hat. So it can also rain dogs and cats out of a hat.

All right the results are in:

I had a really good time. I realized that since my town while culturally proficiant in the high fine arts, such as Orchestra, Ballet, Theater, Opera, and so on, we are sadly lacking in the veritay arts, which means that while the invisible dog trick is a old one, it is basically new or has been largely forgotten in Abilene. So instead of doing the dog under the hat, I just did the invisible dog and it went over really well, with lots of people laughing, telling me how pretty and cute he was. Unfortunetly I wasn't there early enough to be in the (apperantly very short) dog parade. So I walked around with my dog ( a Invisible Antartic Pyrineese), and talked with friends, and looked at art (that is what you do at art walk) and ran into light poles when my dog would go left and I would go right.

I did this for a couple of hours until the crowd dissapated. Then I went to my car, grabbed a book, and my rubber chicken harmonica and went over to a local coffeeshop which was going to have a open mic night. The open mic part hadn't started when I got there but there was a family with a couple of small children (three and five I think) and so I spent a good thirty minutes entertaining them, with my hat, a squeaky toy and a deck of cards. I think I actaully got about half the coffee shop chuckling.

Then that family left, and the open mic began. I went after a guy read a Allen Ginsburg poem, so my harmonica chicken cordon blues, when off really well. I have a rubber chicken that I fit with a harmonica, and so I played a blues rift for all it was worth and clucked the verses. I then enlisted everyones help im making my thumb disappear and then reappear by virtue of animal noises.

And that was all she pretty much wrote, I spent the rest of the night hanging out with people at the coffee shop listening to the rest of the opne mic night people. I should have a picture of me in costume pretty soon. Thanks for all the support!
