The newsletter idea from one of the earlier posts really got my wheels spinnin' a few days ago...

I've decided that I'm gonna do my first one for November, making them monthly, and I've looked at others as examples.

I'm using birthdays as the theme, listing famous people's birthdays and encouraging the receipients to to share their birthdays with me so I can include them on the list. I also have the beneficial effects of laughter, and I'm looking for more content, so if you guys think of anything, gimme a holler...

hey Bips great idea on the newletter and as for the birthday the most important b-day in november was mine :lol: yea like that changed the world. anyway mine is on november 12th and i will be 25 for the 14th time :D

this is something I have been thinking about for a while.

Not to steal your thunder, but if you wanted you could send it our to the members of clown-forum too.

I dont know how you feel about that or if you think I would be intruding on your sites sucess.

That sounds great to me! I don't mind sharing it. I've gotten some great ideas here from everyone so I think that would only be fair.

I'm going to work on it some more tonight so I'm hoping it will be finished in the next couple of days, to get it out to everyone before the 1st...

I'm working on it in email format with a group distribution list, but I hope eventually to have it operating on a much larger scale. This is my first undertaking like this, so if you guys have any pearls of wisdom to share, I'm all ears...

If any of you guys would also like to contribute content, I'm up for that. I'll make sure you get the credit for it as well.

This sounds wonderful! You might want to set it up on a website, so that you could just send the link to members of the forum or whoever wants it. As mentioned in other posts, there are several free webpage setup sites.
I'm sure there are plenty of people on this list that would love to contribute!

When I had a newsletter I used Brave Net (http://bravenet.com). They have lots of cool free stuff for websites which you can combine in the free webspace they provide. If you like you can even pay them to get more space/functions and no adverts etc. When I used them their service was reliable and they didn't spam me or my users.

I've got a website up and running.....well, up and sputtering might be a more appropriate term for it! :)

It's with Tripod, and is still in it's baby stage, as I'm just learning HTML.

Right now I'm just doing the newsletter from email straight on a distribution list, so I'll try that this month, and see about making changes in the next month or two.

As a matter of fact, I'm trying to center some of the writing I have on my website, bipstheclown.tripod.com, and I can't seem to get it right. I have a border running on the left side, and I want the word to be centered so they are easier to read. I've put in p=align center but it doesn't seem to be working...

Dont use palign.
Just put all the text inside <center> < /center> tags and have the style in a css file.

Howdy BIPS, Great idea of starting a newsletter but let me tell ya, it can keep ya busy. I have one for the RED NOSE RANCH and finding items worthwhile can take up most of y'er time.

BTW, My birthday is December 11th and I'll be 39. (but I have a 20yr Mail-In rebate :D )
