First of all I would try and find as many of the local clowns as possible and see if they want an alley. If you can find two other clowns who want to, then you have enough to make a start (hopefully more). You will then have to collectively decide on the aims and objectives for the alley is, a code of conduct, rules for joining, subscription fees etc.

then there's organization affiliation,,,,Do you wanna be affiliated with the World Clown Association, Clowns of America International, etc.
But the best thing is to find a local library (they always have meeting rooms) where you can host y'er meetings and events. Our Clown Alley, who has since split up, always used the local library and they welcomed us with open arms. Allowed us full access to the meeting rooms even after the library closed. We'd get 'em a good Christmas gift every year out of appreciation.
Good Luck with it Dave.

I just think you need clowns to start an alley. However,If you want to join WCA or COAI then you need to do it their way. I've got some back issues of Calliope and World clowns magazine--I'll look in to it.

Hi Mr. Buckaroo: COAI Lists ROSE CITY CLOWNS P.O. Box 230003 Tigard OR 97281
www.rosecityclowns.org in Oregon, I'm not sure where Tigard is in relation to you, but an awful lot of COAI Members belong to this alley, it seems pretty big... Hope this helps...Oh well, My 2 cents....Willy Nilly

I would like to join an Alley, the closest one though looks to be in Haslett,MI. A good hour and a half from us. A little far to drive in bad weather.
