I got a medium sized white with painted on black spots cow bell that I'm thinking about hooking around my suspenders with an elastic string.
Here's my idea: While taking a break from twisting, I walk around to the different booths, ringing the bell, shouting " MOOOOO! "
If someone asks me what I'm doing (which I hope they will) I'll say to them:
" I'm calling for my pet cow, Clara Bell "
I haven't yet figured out either a punchline or follow up to this, so if you guys have any suggestions, I'm all ears! :)

ha i like that idea scruffy. we use to bell our mules when we packed up in the mountains sometimes one of the mules would get the bell ringsgoin in a kind of rythme that would sound like one of the old telephones and we would grab a small log or rock and answer it with a loud hello and then say must be a bad connection. the kids use to get a big kick out of it.
Those are both good ones, guys.
I like to have alternating stuff so that if I happen to run into the same bunch of kids or crowd then I've got some new material.
My wife (bless her heart) is planning on stopping by the fabric shop today, and get me like a yard of that red cowboy pattern necktie you always see them wear, and make me a HUGE bandanna to wear around my neck. I'm going to work up some patter about it getting in my way I think, so something else to offer to people at the carnival.

You can use my knock knock joke that's posted under "KNOCK KNOCK" in the kids jokes section of this site.
Tinks :)
Clown: Knock Knock
Kids: Who's There??
Clown: Interrupting Cow
(now to get this right you have to give the punchline in the middle of there reply)
Kids: Interrupting.....
Clown: MOOOOOO! (really loud and obnoxiously "interrupting" them) hehe

Why not use the line from the old Cow Joke.
spectator; "What are ya doin'?"
Clown; "I'm looking for my Cow,,,Clarabell. I just gotta get this bell back to her 'cause her horn don't work"

You get one of those cow noise makers that makes a "MOO" cow sound when you turn it upside down. You can keep it in your pocket and then just open your mouth miming "moo" but really you're turning the toy over, unknown to the audience, in your pocket.8-)
