View Full Version : Where to buy a costume? new2clowning 11-09-2004, 12:25 AM Does anybody know of a store,in dalas fort worth area, where we can try different types of styles on before we buy them if not where can we buy online. Scruffy 11-09-2004, 06:08 AM I'm not sure about that area. But, you might try contacting a local clown alley and see if they can reccommend a place. I hesitate to say check with a costume shop. most of the time the costumes that they sell are the ones you find at costume shops are the very cheap, jumpsuit type, outfit and usually the fabric is pretty thin. Okay for an office party, not so hot if you are thinking about doing this on a regular basis. Online there are two good sources that let you pick and choose for a costume that is unique. Just like your clown. www.mooseburger.com www.clowncostumes.com Also, check Ebay, type in costumes for working clowns into the search box (I don't know how to send a link), or clown costumes, there are some good ones out there. You might even check to see if there is a talened seamstress in the area that can modify an existing pattern for you.I guess, I'm lucky. As a tramp, I can shop at good will, and you might too. It depends on the style of costume you want. BIPS 11-09-2004, 08:40 AM The ones that Scruffy recommended online are good, and as far as outfits are concerned in DFW area it depends where you are. I'm in Arlington, and one of the places that I enjoy going to and has a wide assortment of costumes, makeup, magic, and so forth is Magic ETC in FT WORTH. Off the top of my head I don't remember the address, and if you're more in Dallas then there are probably closer places than that, but if it's not too far you might give them a shot... Tinks 11-11-2004, 02:56 PM Here's the ebay link... I love these costumes, and they're quite affordable! She had a red plaid coat and pants that I really liked and It seemed that it would fit me. I believe it was about a hundred and thirty dollars Shipped! IF I get to d a whiteface character some time I would like one of those. Her prices are the best! Gilbert 11-11-2004, 05:16 PM (I don't know how to send a link) this can be done one of two ways simplest is click on the URL button enter the web address and then click on the URL button again. This should look like the following before you post your message webaddress The second way looks cooler IMHO. If you add an = with the web address inside the [url] like this . you can then put normal text between the two URL tags eg [url=webaddress]cool link text here (webaddress) new2clowning 11-12-2004, 01:48 PM We are very thankful for all the help we can get. Ilook into each site & store. God Bless you all Scruffy 11-12-2004, 05:35 PM Stop by any time. Try the coffee.. It's pretty good. ashes 11-17-2004, 08:54 PM There's Magic, Etc. in Fort Worth. On the web, Moosburger Originals http://www.mooseburger.com You don't say what type of clown you are, but I love to shop at all the thrift stores. When we go, it's always with our "clown eyes" on - Oversized, under-sized, stripes, plaids, etc. They all have potential! Wishing you all the best! Ashes |
